Information about Brazilian Entrepreneur and Civil Engineer, Haroldo Jacobovicz

Haroldo Jacobovicz is the founder of Horizons Telecom, a significant telecommunications supplier across Brazil, and it uses a 100% fiber network and modern equipment and has a multi-point prolixity for firmness. Haroldo launched another firm, Horizons Datacenter, to help various businesses realize the benefits of cloud-based technology and improved network connection. Jacobovicz thinks his career path has not been straight because of the ups and downs he has encountered. Haroldo joined the Federal University of Parana in Curitiba to study civil engineering, but his interest changed when he discovered information technology.

Before graduating from the university, Mr. Jacobovicz was joined by three of his friends, and they created an IT company known as Microsystem in the 1980s. Their goal in establishing this firm was to assist small ventures in managing their cash and stock using automated methods. Microsystem was closed after operating for one year.

Significant firms such as Exxon Mobil saw the importance of automation, so they hired Haroldo Jacobovicz to join their IT department. Haroldo Jacobovicz was promoted to lead the company’s commercial tactics in the Rio de Janeiro headquarters after working for a short time. After a few years, Mr. Jacobovicz went to work for Itaipu Binational, a firm based in Curitiba, Parana.

Haroldo Jacobovicz was raised in Curitiba; his parents are both civil engineers. At that time, his mother was one of just a few female civil engineers in Parana. When Haroldo told his parents he was passionate about information technology, they encouraged him to do what he loved. Jacobovicz, therefore, focused all his energy on studying IT. Haroldo invites young people to explore more to create multiple opportunities for themselves; he believes if he could have learned more languages, he would have established ventures in several regions globally. He says that committing to reading improves one’s self-discipline and helps one stay sharp.
